Half term craft idea for kids

Half term generally means craft time in our house hold. It's a great way to spend some quality time with the kids.

Today we painted canvases and embellished them with their names to hang in their bedrooms.

This was a really simple but effective activity. Both kids (aged 5 and 6) really enjoyed painting their background, choosing the colours for the letters and were really pleased with both their end results. The best thing for parents is that there's basically no mess involved and a really inexpensive activity.

Below I've included everything we used. All the embellishments can be tailored to your childs preferences, any kind of 3D Sticker or decoration will work!

2 x small canvases - available at any art or dollar store $3.99 each
1 x pack chipboard letters - available at any art or dollar store $2.99 each
3D felt dog stickers $2.00 each
1 x small pack pom poms $2.50
1 x pack moon and stars foam stickers $2.50

All we did was paint the canvas with water-colour paint, which dried instantly. We then painted the chipboard letters with the same paint and glued them on with pritt stick. Then decorated the rest with the stickers/pom poms. Easy peasy.
